International festivals, markets and talent labs remain a key opportunity for raising Scotland and its filmmakers’ profiles in the international marketplace.
We will continue to support Scotland-based filmmakers’ attendance at international festivals, giving them the opportunity to network, meet potential co-production partners and to access global markets for their work, and take part in key international screen development programmes.
Screen Scotland supports this through various routes:
Support for producers with market ready projects to get access to possible financiers and international co-production partners – at key international markets such as Cannes, Toronto and FIN AFM.
Market and Festival Attendance Fund
Offering funding to help screenwriters, producers and directors attend key festivals and film markets in the UK and internationally.
The SFTN Talent Programme Bursary is designed to support writers, directors and producers to attend development programmes, talent labs, single workshops and seminars. These include but are not limited to Berlinale Talents | Rotterdam Lab | Reykjavik Talent Lab | Sundance Lab | TIFF Talent Lab | Torino Film Lab.
The SDI Delegations programme offer an opportunity to take Scotland-based documentary producers and filmmakers to the core of the international documentary scene and some of its most prominent festivals.
Scottish independent producers can get reduced rate bursaries to attend, network and meet commissioners at the TV industry’s seminal television event featuring an internationally-focused programme with digital content at its heart.
