From 2016, BellRock was an annual programme giving Scotland-based filmmakers and screenwriters the opportunity to work with a team of established international mentors to develop original screenplays.
The programme provided an intensive series of residencies and mentoring support for six writers and filmmakers per year and was delivered by Hospitalfield in partnership with Olivia Stewart, Three Rivers Film and Creative Scotland.
BellRock was designed to help find original, diverse voices and to provide a supportive working environment to develop original screenplays through working with a team of international industry professionals during a series of residencies, which included one-to-one sessions, group discussions and masterclasses.
The programme aimed to extend the sense of a support network of fellow participants, previous participants and mentors beyond the period of the residencies, as well as build confidence with the opportunity to pitch projects to an international panel of industry professionals.
