Screen NETS is an on the job training programme, focusing on new entrants and recently entered practitioners. They recruit from across Scotland for technical, production and design roles in scripted TV and film.
Screen NETS have opened recruitment for their 2023 programme and are recruiting 10 trainees across two stands:
- Strand 1 will recruit 6 trainees for up to 9 months from across Scotland who have some basic experience or transferable skills from other jobs or work you think is relevant.
- Strand 2 will recruit 4 trainees/participants for up to 6 months who have already completed a short structured trainee programme on a drama series but would like further placements to progress OR have strong direct transferable skills from another sector OR Currently be established in the industry in a drama crew role and now moving into directing
Departments being recruited for:
Strand 1: Production Accounts; Production Office; Locations; Hair & Make-Up; Assistant Director (AD) and Location Sound.
Strand 2: Art Dept; Camera; Editing; Shadowing Director
Screen NETs aim to select individuals who are keen to specialise in the specific departments they are recruiting for and may have some limited entry-level experience or transferable skills that will meet the criteria for the specific department.

You must be over 21 and based in Scotland to apply.
Applications are strongly encouraged from people who are traditionally under-represented in the industry and may have faced barriers to entry due to their ethnicity, disability, social class, sexual orientation, sex or gender. We are also keen to hear from those with transferable skills, rurally excluded, and the first in their family to enter the industry.
