Screen Scotland is working with BFI and BAFTA Scotland to test a Scottish version of the BFI Diversity Standards by asking this year’s BAFTA Scotland Award entrants to self-certify and provide information on the diversity of their qualifying projects. The information provided will not affect eligibility for the 2021 BAFTA Scotland Awards.
This test will ensure Screen Scotland:
- works with Scotland specific Diversity Standards that remain close to the BFI’s Diversity Standards while reflecting Scotland’s demographics as far as possible;
- is ambitious for diversity in Scotland’s screen sector;
Testing will enable Screen Scotland to see how current projects measure against the draft standards and gauge sector feedback on the draft Scottish version of the BFI Diversity Standards and enable refinement of the current draft ahead of their formal pilot later in the year.
Further updates on the test findings will be announced here in due course.
